A brief Intro from a Reston Native

Hello and welcome to my blog! I have lived in Reston Virginia for over 20 years and counting. Overall Reston is a great place to live! Compared to other locations in the Fairfax county area Reston is clean, safe, and semi friendly. Over the years Reston has grown a great deal, but while growth is great and everyone enjoys the convenience of more stores, buildings, and roads, much of Restons natural beauty has been lost in the process. Although it was built with the goal of revolutionizing the post-World War II ideas of land use and residential/corporate development in American suburbia, most of those concepts seem to have been lost or slowly compromised over time.

Reston is still an awesome place to live, with a plethora of bicycling and walking/running paths, lakes, pools, and even a golf course. The public transportation in Reston is more than adequate (although constant fare increases do not do much for ridership) with bus routes to most shopping locations, schools, and other points of interest. On top of that Metro rail access will be available soon, connecting Reston to D.C and all our surrounding neighbors.
